Nawalgarh

Fondly known as “open-air gallery” or “the land of Havelis” the miniature town of Nawalgarh is situated approximately 30 kilometers away from Jhunjhunu town, doing absolute justice to its name. Known as the motherland of various well-established Marwari business families, it is one of the busiest and largest towns in the Shekhawati region. Also, it is famous for Nawalgarh Fort, places, temples, and Havelis. Many consider this town the Golden City of Rajasthan. The old preserved haveli’s golden glow justifies the name. In 1797 AD, Thakur Nawal Singh Bahadur founded Nawalgarh.

Sheesh Mahal

In English, it interprets the Castle of Mirrors. It is an astounding edifice with one roof mural encompassing maps of Nawalgarh and Jaipur. The architectural spectacle indicated the huge mastery of the Rajput craftsmen in a craft to create detailed art.

This complex, as suggested by the name, has eight Havelis. This mansion houses some finest murals in the range of styles in Shekhawati. This Muraka Haveli has an exterior that is richly painted with horses, elephants, and one fine pair of blue carriage, also has miniatures that showcase scenes from Lord Krishna’s life.

Roop Niwas Palace

Bhagton ki Choti Haveli

The Haveli boasts a varied and different selection of murals. The subjects include Queen Victoria and a European-style angel and are quirky. Also, there are scenes of Radha and Krishna on a swing. In the shape of an elephant, this haveli has a painting of seven women.
